What helped get over the block?

Believe it or not, one of you.

I asked Miss Tintine and Mister Malady to come in for physicals a few weeks ago.

It was in that I discovered something while testing Mister Malady's blood samples.

Mister Malady, your body has somehow developed antibodies for the choke.

Really?

I didn't believe it at first, either. But you were at some point previously exposed to the choke - I'm guessing while we were escaping North Dryar - and something remarkable happened.

Somehow, your body produced antibodies - triggered by the presence of another chemical. I'd almost think you've been manually immunized to it, somehow, but that's crazy.

I'm not sure if it's your diet, or what, but the presence of this other chemical actually changes the way the choke operates.

It weakens it significantly, and enables the body to produce an antibody that completely neutralizes it.

I extracted this chemical from your blood, and was able to reproduce it - it's a relatively innocent organic compound, but normally isn't a part of our diets.

Something about you caused a concentration of this high enough in your blood to trigger the reaction in the choke itself.

From that, a vaccine. With the compound and neutralized choke in someone's body, their immune system will produce similar antibodies, rendering them immune.

The vaccine was developed for Lagre, so I have to admit I only know it will work similarly in Ura and Fennic. There haven't been any cases of it outside Lagre, but it's better to be safe.

We've only had tests of it acting similarly in Ura and Fennic, so I do have full vaccines for most of you.

That said, I do have a dose for you, priest, that's just the organic compound, for safety. I can't promise it will do the same in Drago, but it's better than nothing.

Just giving you the compound, I can't guarantee you will develop antibodies in the same way, but we don't even know if the choke affects Drago at all.
